Connect With ME

Me, In a conch shell

My History

I've known I wanted to pursue marine biology since I was nine years old. It was evident that my passion was unparalleled when my plushie collection contained more sharks and whales than bears. My curiosity only grew in school, as did my frustration, when we studied space far more than we studied the ocean. You could find me reading fantasy novels one day and in the non-fiction section of the library reading animal encyclopedias the next. I followed that passion and graduated from Rollins College with a degree in Marine Biology in 2020. Unfortunately, I had a few opportunities that were canceled due to Covid-19 (Environmental Research Internship with the Smithsonian Marine Invasions Lab, as well as a Laboratory Assistant position at Bigelow Laboratory of Ocean Sciences). I am a believer that things all happen for a reason, and was thrilled to begin my career with The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. Throughout my almost four years there I put my whole heart into learning the ways of genotyping and eventually taught it. I started as a Genotyping Technologist I, then became a Genotyping Technologist II, and finally was the Supervisor of Automated Platforms. In the fall of 2025, I am thrilled to be starting at Northeastern University’s Three Seas program, working towards a Master's of Sciences in Marine biology to further my education and return to the field that stole my heart as a child. I am so excited at what the future holds, the research to discover, and the unknowns waiting to be explored.

Inspiration

Teaching and tutoring!

I love to interact with various students and engage and inspire them in the topics I enjoy! I have been tutoring since I was in early high school.

Art and Photography!

I find so much inspiration in the world around me and love to capture it in a plethora of forms.

Reading!

I can be found in the library enjoying every genre!

My childhood as an Army Brat!

I moved thirteen times before I went to College and the ocean was always a constant for me, no matter if we lived on the East coast or West!

The "Unloved" Critters

Animals that do not tend to get love by people or ones that do not even look like animals have always fascinated me. I was into every book that detailed the strange and fascinating creatures the ocean has to offer. I had a pet jumping spider once!
